Vacancy – Schools Officer, Southport

Sustrans, the charity that’s enabling people to travel by foot, bike or public transport for more of the journeys we make every day, is seeking to fill the following key vacancy:

The exciting challenges of this role include promoting walking, scooting and cycling to children and young people at local primary and secondary schools, to support ‘champions’ in different settings with the delivery of various events and activities and to utilise local authority resources available for active travel to make links between schools and the wider walking and cycling community.

Schools Officer, Southport

£21,534 – £24,103 per annum (dependent on relevant skills and experience)

37.5 hours per week – contract to 31 July 2017 – based in Bootle

With a good standard of education, you will have experience of working directly with children and young people, in schools and with local authorities, of partnership working within a community-based or environment project and have the ability to build strong working relationships. Your enthusiasm will be motivational to others and your excellent written and verbal communication will complement your strong organisational skills. IT literacy is essential as is an understanding of school settings and the health benefits of active travel. You will also be committed to active travel and the promotion of sustainable transport. DBS Enhanced Disclosure clearance is mandatory for this role.
