Glow New Media has been recognised in the Big Chip Awards 2015, winning in the Best Application of Mobile category for the Merseyrail app, which they designed and developed. It’s the first time that Merseyrail has been associated with a digital award. The app was also shortlisted for the Best User Experience award.
The Merseyrail app offers up-to-the-minute information on how services are running, live departure times, as well as customised travel alerts and details on getting to stations. Boasting more personalised features than most similar platforms available, it is designed to enhance the passenger experience and is customer-friendly, intuitive and visually appealing.
The app can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for android devices. 26,000 people have already downloaded it and there are around 100 new users per day.

We’re constantly looking for new ways of improving the customer experience and the app, which is especially useful during times of disruption, is another of our initiatives to give people quicker, better access to information about Merseyrail.’
