Merseyside Police – September Step Challenge

Merseyside Police are challenging organisations across Merseyside to join in with their #MillionSteps challenge, taking place in the week commencing 24th September.

Your challenge is to encourage as many of your workers as possible to log their steps on the Workplace Challenge during that week to see if your company can beat the Police’s total and be the first to reach 1,000,000 steps – with prizes up for grabs!  There will also be another competition for those SMEs who might not have enough staff to be able to reach the 1m step target but would still like to get involved.

Merseyside Police are running the challenge to help raise at least £10,000 for the Prince’s Trust charity.  There is no obligation for organisations or individuals to raise money, but if they would like to do so then it would help the Police’s cause.

Staff who are more active take fewer days absence, are happier, more productive and are less likely to be stressed at work – encouraging employees to get involved in a step challenge is a simple, fun and inclusive way to promote physical activity in the workplace.  Anybody can get involved, regardless of their age, ability or level of fitness.

Organisations interested in getting involved should register their interest by filling out the short online form via the link below.  Nearer the time, you’ll receive further information and marketing materials to help spread the word throughout your organisation and try to get as many people as possible involved!
