The Art of Recycling comes to Williamson Gallery

Alison Bailey Smith has been working with recycled materials in her craft practice for over 20 years and has recently been teaching rag rugging with great success at the Williamson Art Gallery through Wirral Lifelong Learning. Principal museums officer, advice Colin Simpson has asked Alison to mount an exhibition of her students work and this will be on show from mid November until the end of the year. Students were encouraged to use old tee-shirts, clinic even old socks to produce wonderful prodded and hooked rugs.
